Always Do Good Things...

Salam

As a mother of four young children, I am quite disturbed with what happened to the 15-year-old boy who had been shot dead by the police. While all my heart goes out to the mother of that boy, I also have sympathy to the police force who has been accused as unprofessional, cruel and so on. After all, everything had happened, and the case is under probe. Let us pray for the justice to prevail. Al-Fatihah to the late Aminul.

As Muslims, we must believe that everything happened has its own hikmah. I believe this tragedy serves as an eye opener to the parents, educators and government, on what is happening to the youngsters nowadays. Staying out late has been the norm of today's youngsters. It is considered trendy and cool, and those who don't are considered abnormal.

While I agree that it is the basic right of every human being to do whatever they like, I appeal to everybody especially the youngsters to think of the impact of every action that you do. Staying out late is not only unhealthy to the body, it is also dangerous because you are exposing yourselves to all sorts of negative elements, e.g. drug, robbery, rape/sodomy, or even murder!

Sometimes we think that nothing wrong to have fun once in a while. It is true, but the problem is, we don't know what will happen to us in the next second. If something bad happened to us, and it happened while we are doing something bad, the impact is not only on us, but also to our family. The grief will be forever!

So, to the youngsters, especially my own children and students, please think before you do something. ALWAYS DO GOOD THINGS, so you will not be inflicted with the bad things.
